Session Ideas?

We’re looking for ideas on topics to cover for the Kansas City PDC aside from the basics of what is Mojo / Web OS.

The first one that comes to mind is a quick how-to for a Twitter client to read tweets and post status updates.  Now that Facebook has removed the login restriction for status updates which opens the door for Facebook “status feed” clients, this could also be covered as well.

What are your thoughts?

Announcing PreDevCamp Kansas City

Greetings!  DotNext: Kansas City is currently in the planning process of organizing a PreDevCamp.  While we don’t have many details to share at this point, I can at least answer a few questions you may have.

What is PreDevCamp? A code-diving event to learn about development for the new Palm Pre mobile device.  More info can be found in the about section.

Where will PreDevCamp: Kansas City be held? Hasn’t been finalized yet, but I bet it will be at the Enterprise Center of Johnson County, just off 87th & i-35.

How much will it cost? Also hasn’t been finalized.  We’re of course hoping to make it free.

Where can I register to attend? See our registration section.

When will it be held? Shortly after the Pre launch.

When is the Pre launch? Latest rumors have as mid/late March ‘09, but the official answer from Sprint/Palm is “First half of 2009″.

Can I help organize the event? Absolutely!  Just shoot me an email.

Who is DotNext? We’re a local group of developers that have organized events such as Highlight Midwest, StartupWeekend, among others.

Kansas City Gets The preDevCamp Fever

We got called out by Derek about the fact that there was no preDevCamp in Kansas City. Well, you know what we had to do right? Sign him up to run it! I mean we can’t have Kansas City left out of the preDevCamp experience, can we? So here it is Derek, your preDevCamp website.
